Limited but free (3-post series)

A bird is only free to fly once it realizes that ‘up, up and away’ is where freedom is found.

This is the start to a 3-post series of Christian minority women who are very much limited in society but have found their freedom in Christ. Each individual will discuss three main points:

  1. An experience where she has felt disadvantaged in or given less opportunity as a minority
  2. Her every day struggles as a minority
  3. How Scripture has allowed her to tackle those struggles and how the Gospel provides freedom in her life

I hope these women will be of encouragement to all who struggle with the same or similar issues. Moreover, I am praying this will testify that our true freedom should not be anticipated by new laws or given rights. As the psalmist wrote:

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.

 (Psalms 121:1)
